25-1-2025 (HANOI) A disturbing incident unfolded yesterday evening when a blood-stained man wielding a knife met a tragic end after falling from the third floor of a prominent gold shop in central Vietnam.
The deceased, identified as NCT, 29, from Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, entered BN Gold Shop on Quang Trung Street at approximately 6 pm, causing panic among customers and staff. According to eyewitnesses, the man, who had visible blood on his neck, was brandishing a large knife as he stormed into the premises.
A customer present during the incident, identified only as Ms N, 33, described the terrifying moment whilst she was shopping for earrings. “The shop owner immediately fled to the second floor, but the armed individual pursued him,” she told investigators.
The situation escalated when the man made his way to the third-floor balcony, where witnesses report he began waving the knife erratically. Despite desperate attempts from onlookers below to intervene verbally, the man suddenly leaned over the balustrade and plummeted to the pavement below, suffering fatal injuries upon impact.
Local authorities swiftly cordoned off a section of Quang Trung Street following the incident. The Dak Lak provincial police have launched a formal investigation and ordered a post-mortem examination to determine the full circumstances surrounding the death.
Officials are currently examining CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
