23-10-2023 (BEIJING) A kindergarten teacher in China is facing severe criticism after she was caught on camera force-feeding a young boy his own vomit. The incident occurred on September 15, according to the South China Morning Post.
The boy, who was celebrating his sixth birthday and was dressed in brand new clothes, returned home from school wearing filthy attire, as revealed by the boy’s father, identified as Mr. Zhang, during an interview with Chinese media.
Initially, Zhang and his wife paid little attention to the soiled clothes. However, the boy later confided in his grandmother, disclosing that his teacher had forcefully made him eat more food after he had finished his lunch.
The teacher compelled the child to consume additional pieces of pumpkin, despite his already full stomach. Unable to ingest more food, the boy regurgitated into a bowl.
Zhang expressed his shock and anger, stating, “The teacher took out the vomit and stuffed it back into my son’s mouth.”
Footage from the school’s CCTV camera, shared online by the boy’s parents, depicted the teacher holding the child’s head back while forcing mashed-up food into his mouth.
Recognizing the teacher’s actions as child abuse, Zhang and his wife reported the incident to their son’s school. They repeatedly requested access to the CCTV footage but were only granted permission to view it after involving the police.
After conducting a thorough investigation, the local education bureau released a statement on October 13, acknowledging the occurrence and deeming the teacher’s actions inappropriate.
The bureau ordered both the teacher and the head of the kindergarten to issue apologies to the affected child and his parents. Furthermore, the teacher was dismissed from her position, and the kindergarten’s ranking was downgraded as a consequence.
In addition to taking action against the specific kindergarten, the education bureau vowed to conduct special investigations in schools across the district to prevent similar incidents in the future.
