5-4-2024 (BANGKOK) A Kazakh woman, identified as Anel Toishubekova, aged 35, has been apprehended on Koh Samui for allegedly providing sex services online while overstaying her visa. Immigration officers reported her arrest on Friday, disclosing that she was found in a hotel room on the popular tourist island with 10,000 baht in cash, which she had received from an undercover police informant posing as a customer.
Upon inspecting her passport, authorities discovered that she had overstayed her visa by a staggering 195 days.
Toishubekova’s arrest followed a tip-off from a foreigner who claimed that a foreign woman had persuaded him to purchase sex services. The contact was established through an agent using a mobile phone number associated with WhatsApp, according to the Surat Thani immigration office.
Further investigation revealed that the same mobile number was listed on multiple dating websites frequented by foreign women offering sexual services in tourist hotspots such as Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket.
In a strategic operation, the arresting team enlisted an informant to arrange a meeting using the aforementioned phone number. The informant was instructed to pay $350, and photographs of a foreign woman were provided to him as part of the deal.
Upon the agreed rendezvous, the informant transferred payment to Toishubekova, who then proceeded to the bathroom to change. Sensing the opportune moment, the informant signaled the officers to intervene and make the arrest.
During interrogation, Toishubekova reportedly confessed to all charges. She admitted to being contacted by another foreign woman, known only as Linda, who acted as an agent for arranging dates online.
Toishubekova faces charges for offering sex services and overstaying her visa, and has been handed over to the Bo Phut police station for further legal proceedings.
