10-7-2023 (SEOUL) South Korean megastars BTS have unveiled their highly anticipated memoir in celebration of their remarkable 10-year journey as a group. Titled “Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS,” this official book provides fans with a chronological account of the band’s musical career while also offering glimpses into their future endeavors, according to their agency, BIGHIT MUSIC.
Despite heavy rainfall yesterday morning, dedicated fans defied the weather to gather in front of the Kyobo bookstore in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun area. While the downpour kept crowds at bay, some die-hard followers were eager to be among the first to obtain the memoir. Lakshi, a fan from Sri Lanka, expressed her excitement, saying, “If I had to measure it on a scale of one to ten, it would be about a million.”
Aqilah, a devoted fan from Malaysia, beamed with joy as she exclaimed, “I’ve been here since 9 am, and I finally got this book!”
The memoir’s release in the United States coincided with its launch in South Korea, propelling it to the top of the best-seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in May, fueled by pre-orders.
Co-authored by South Korean journalist Kang Myeong-seok and the band members themselves, the book offers a unique insight into BTS’s journey. Its release date, July 9, holds special significance for the septet as it marks the anniversary of the formation of their devoted global fanbase, known as ARMY, ten years ago.
Audrey, a fan from Malaysia who scheduled a trip to Seoul to coincide with the memoir’s release, expressed her gratitude, saying, “(BTS) Thank you for saving me when I needed it. I wish I could say more, but I am going to cry now.”
