12-9-2023 (BEIJING) Attendees of Jay Chou’s recent concert at the Tianjin Olympic Centre Stadium were in for an unforgettable experience as not one, but two global megastars took the stage. On Saturday (Sep 9), while performing his hit song “Far Away,” Chou made a gesture towards a rising platform on his right. Within seconds, veteran entertainer Jackie Chan emerged, joining Chou to complete the song amidst thunderous applause from the ecstatic crowd.
The audience erupted with excitement as the two legends embraced. Chou expressed his gratitude to Chan, saying, “Thank you Big Brother for coming and supporting!” They engaged in playful banter, with Chan humorously admitting that he couldn’t keep up with Chou’s fast-paced songs like “Nunchucks” from 2001.
Chou responded by suggesting they perform a slower track, choosing “Listen To Mother’s Words” from 2006, which they then delivered in perfect harmony while the crowd swayed their light sticks.
After their captivating performance, Chan expressed his appreciation to the concert-goers for their support and for championing both his and Chou’s careers. He then bid farewell to the stage, leaving the audience in awe.
This wasn’t the first time Jackie Chan surprised fans at a Jay Chou concert. In 2014, he made a stunning appearance at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld–Expo, singing “Understanding My Heart” to an ecstatic crowd.
Following Saturday’s concert, Chou took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Chan once again. Fans flooded the comments section with praise for the collaboration, while also urging Chou to take care and rest well, following reports of an injury he sustained during a previous show.
Jay Chou’s Carnival world tour, which commenced in 2019, is set to continue until 2024. The tour has captivated audiences worldwide, and some of Chou’s upcoming stops include Bangkok, London, Melbourne, and Yokohama.
