24-5-2023 (Hong Kong) The upcoming “Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour” in Malaysia by the renowned cantopop singer Jacky Cheung has caused a buzz among fans. The highly anticipated tour will feature six shows held at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur over two consecutive weekends this August. Fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the legendary singer’s iconic performances and captivating music. Ticket sales for the concerts will commence on 26th May at 10 am, with prices ranging from RM388 (approximately HK$660) to RM1188 (approximately HK$2025), excluding administrative and handling fees.
However, the recently released seating chart by the concert organizers has stirred controversy among netizens. The chart divides the seating areas into four different price ranges, each designated by a different color. Upon examining the chart, some netizens were taken aback to discover that the RM988 (approximately HK$1691) seats were positioned at the top of the venue, while the RM1188 (approximately HK$2025) seats were located on the level just below the top. This revelation led to criticism of the organizers, with netizens accusing them of selling expensive tickets for seats with poor views. The seating chart was even labeled as “the most misleading seating chart in history,” and allegations were made that the organizers aimed to maximize profits by charging exorbitant prices for VIP seats.
The seating chart has also sparked comparisons to Jacky Cheung’s concerts in Singapore, where ticket prices are reportedly much lower. Disappointed fans have expressed their concerns over the pricing and seating arrangements for the Malaysian concerts, questioning the worthiness of purchasing tickets for seats with obstructed views.
