8-10-2023 (BEIRUT) Lebanese media reported on Saturday that Israeli soldiers had fired shots at demonstrators carrying Hezbollah flags on the Lebanese side of the northern border.
According to reports, a group of motorcyclists had gathered near the border area to celebrate Hamas’ recent attack on Israel. During the celebration, they began unfurling Hezbollah flags, which prompted the Israeli soldiers to open fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
In response to Hamas’ rocket attacks targeting Israeli sites, airports, and military installations, the Israeli army initiated Operation Swords of Iron in the Gaza Strip. This military operation was launched following the announcement of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood by Hamas, the Palestinian group responsible for governing the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Tragically, the ongoing conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life. Medical sources in Gaza have reported that at least 232 Palestinians have been killed, while the Israeli death toll has risen to 300. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the situation as a “war.”
Hamas has justified its operation as a response to the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the escalation of settler violence. The situation remains highly volatile, with both sides experiencing devastating consequences as the clashes continue.
