These discussions will take place via teleconference as part of the Thai delegation’s visit to New York during the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78), which commenced on Monday and is slated to conclude on Sunday.
In his address at the UNGA78, Prime Minister Srettha revealed the government’s intention to extend invitations to foreign investors, promoting Thailand as an attractive investment destination. During his stay in New York, he aims to meet with high-ranking executives from renowned corporations such as Microsoft, Google, and Tesla to explore potential collaborations.
“Elon Musk has graciously accepted our invitation to participate in discussions with the Thai government’s delegation through a teleconference,” Prime Minister Srettha disclosed. He also holds the position of finance minister within the government.
In addition to Elon Musk, other prominent corporate leaders who have accepted invitations to engage in talks with the Thai delegation include representatives from Microsoft, BlackRock, JP Morgan, and Estee Lauder.
Prime Minister Srettha affirmed that the Thai delegation would use this opportunity to present the advantages of investing in Thailand to these corporate leaders. He specifically highlighted Thailand’s robust medical care services as one of the key attractions for potential investors.
Prior to departing for New York, Prime Minister Srettha took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to outline the objectives of his trip, emphasizing Thailand’s desire to project a fresh image on the global stage.
“I am committed to taking action towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), upholding multilateralism, and fostering international cooperation in addressing contemporary global challenges, including climate change, financing for development, and sustainable growth,” he stated on X.
He further expressed his enthusiasm for exploring collaborations with both public and private sector stakeholders and strengthening ties with other world leaders to promote peace, prosperity, and sustainability for all.
