15-1-2024 (JAKARTA) Police (Polsek) have disclosed the identity of a corpse discovered in the waters near Tenau Harbor, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The victim has been identified as Yesua WD Kolly, hailing from Naikolan Village, Maulafa District, Kupang City, according to Alak Police Chief Commissioner Edy’s statement on Sunday (14/1/2024).
Edy revealed that Yesua, a nursing graduate from Maranatha Kupang College of Health Sciences (Stikes), had gone missing from his residence since Wednesday, January 3, 2024, until the unfortunate discovery of his lifeless body.
“The family confirmed that they had searched Yesua’s residence but couldn’t locate him,” stated Edy.
The revelation of Yesua’s identity unfolded when a resident named Melkianus Daniel stumbled upon a black Honda Supra x 125 that had been abandoned. Since no one claimed the motorbike, Melkianus reported the discovery to the Tenau Port Subsector Police on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, leading to the detention of the vehicle.
This information circulated on social media, prompting Yesua’s family to visit the Tenau Port Subsector Police and confirm that the motorbike indeed belonged to Yesua.
The police subsequently showed the family a photograph of the deceased, leading them to positively identify him as Yesua. The authorities then directed the family to the NTT Provincial Social Service to reconfirm the identity, as the body had been handed over from Bhayangkara Hospital (RSB) Titus Uli and was slated for burial at the Liliba Public Cemetery (TPU) in Oebobo District, Kupang City.
“The identity match results confirmed Yesua, prompting us to visit the family at their residence to gather information,” explained Edy.
Yesua’s family has requested an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death. However, Edy is currently coordinating with the forensic doctor at RSB Titus Uli Kupang for the necessary procedures.
“We are presently conducting investigations by interviewing several witnesses. We aim to swiftly determine the cause of the victim’s death,” Edy added.

The deceased was found wearing a blue t-shirt, brown shorts, and a brown belt, with signs of decomposition and a foul odor emanating from the body.
