10-12-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Police have confirmed the presence of human remains concealed within a suitcase found in Taman Cheras Perdana.
Local authorities were alerted to the macabre finding early this morning after residents reported a suspicious piece of luggage abandoned in a roadside drainage system. The discovery was marked by a pungent odour and significant insect activity, raising immediate concerns among community members.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan acknowledged receipt of the public report but maintained a guarded stance regarding specific details. “We can verify that a suitcase containing human remains has been recovered from the location,” he stated. “However, as this is now an active investigation, we must exercise discretion with further information.”
The police chief indicated that the Kajang district police force would be issuing a comprehensive statement at a later time, once preliminary investigations have been conducted.
