6-7-2023 (HONG KONG) Coco Lee, the famous Hong Kong singer, has passed away at the age of 48, leaving her entire fortune worth HK$1 billion to her mother. Lee, who had a successful career spanning nearly three decades, reportedly put in place her will before her death, leaving all her wealth and assets to her mother.
Lee was married to billionaire Bruce Rockowitz and treated his two daughters as her own. However, the relationship between Lee and Rockowitz had reportedly become distant in recent years, and his daughters were not seen around her. This suggests they may not inherit part of her estate.
Lee came from a family of doctors, and her mother brought her and her three sisters to the U.S. Her mother became a licensed Chinese medicine practitioner and instilled a strong sense of resilience in Lee from a young age.
After becoming a superstar, Lee credited her mother for her success. She said every time she had a new demo song, her mother would be the first to listen and give her advice on song selections. Lee described her mother’s musical taste as impeccable.
“My mom would say it so seriously, and I would just agree and obey her. I’m very filial that way. Then I would sing the songs she chose,” Lee said.
Lee’s two elder sisters, Carol and Nancy, also participated in beauty pageants and singing contests.
