21-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Hong Kong singer Aaron Kwok is set to entertain fans in Malaysia with a three-night concert at the Arena Of Stars in Genting Highlands from Friday (June 23) to Sunday. The upcoming concerts, part of the Aaron Kwok Amazing Kode World Tour, mark the singer’s first performance in Malaysia since 2015.
During a press conference on Tuesday (June 21), the 57-year-old expressed his excitement at returning to Malaysia after such a long time. “I am very happy and excited to stage a concert in Malaysia after eight years. My team and I are ready to present the most dazzling and magnificent performance to the fans here,” he said.
Kwok acknowledged the overwhelming response he received from Malaysians for his upcoming Genting Highlands gigs. On March 28, concert organiser Jazzy Group announced a third date after tickets to Kwok’s initial two shows sold out within hours of its release on March 27.
Reflecting on the immense support and love he received from Malaysian fans, Kwok said: “I am deeply touched and grateful for the support and enthusiasm (I received) from fans. Each show of support is a source of inspiration and motivation for my efforts and creations. I will treasure (the fans) in my heart and strive to do even better on stage as a return to all their support.”
In preparation for his upcoming shows, the singer said he would exercise daily to ensure he had the stamina necessary to perform. “Whether I am a singer or actor, I always make sure to exercise daily as it provides me with the stamina I need to sing and shoot action movies,” he added.
At the press conference, Kwok was also presented with the Award For Excellent Achievement In Film from Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFF) chairman Joanne Goh. The Cyber Heist star received the prize for his outstanding contributions to the film industry.
Sharing what the award meant to him, Kwok said: “Every acting award I receive is another step in my (acting career). When I started out as a professional actor in 2003, I made a promise to my friends to give the best performance I could. All these awards give me confidence to continue making films and acting.”
