23-7-2024 (BANGKOK) A young Hong Kong woman was discovered dead in her Bangkok residence, bearing multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Gwendoline Cretton, a Eurasian model affiliated with CalCarries International Management Ltd. in Hong Kong, was found with nine stab wounds, prompting local authorities to launch a comprehensive investigation.
Thai police have taken into custody the victim’s Hong Kong boyfriend, known only as Wai, on suspicion of involvement in her death. However, the case has taken a perplexing turn as Wai vehemently denies any wrongdoing, asserting that Cretton’s death was a result of suicide.
The gruesome discovery was made last Thursday evening at approximately 6.15pm when neighbours reported hearing distressing screams emanating from Cretton’s residence. Upon scrutinising CCTV footage, investigators observed three individuals, including Wai, carrying the victim away from the scene.
Despite Wai’s claims of innocence, Thai police have uncovered several discrepancies that cast doubt on the suicide theory. CCTV footage revealed Wai’s yellow private car in the vicinity of the victim’s residence during the time frame in question. Moreover, eyewitnesses reported seeing Cretton walking her dog near her home at around 5.30pm on the day of the incident, displaying no apparent signs of emotional distress.
The Hong Kong Immigration Department has swiftly responded to the incident, reaching out to both the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office and the Chinese Embassy in Thailand to gather crucial information. As of today, the department has not received any requests for assistance from Hong Kong residents but continues to monitor the situation closely.
