2-5-2024 (BANGKOK) Pol Lt Col Pitsinee Watanajuenroj, a high-ranking female Immigration police officer, has been reassigned to an inactive position amidst accusations of accumulating unusual wealth and involvement in an illegal gambling operation.
The transfer from her role as inspector at Samut Prakan immigration office was initiated by Immigration Division 3 commander Pol Maj Natthakorn Praphayon on Tuesday, according to official orders.
Pending further investigation into the allegations, Pitsinee has been temporarily relocated to the division’s head office.
Natthakorn’s directive was issued following reports from Amarin TV and social media alleging Pitsinee’s involvement in an illicit gambling enterprise, purportedly in collaboration with the wife of a police general. Additionally, she stands accused of receiving bribes from immigration personnel seeking career advancements.
These claims initially surfaced from statements made by prominent lawyer Sittha Biabungkerd.
