22-1-2024 (BANGKOK) Shock and horror struck the Bang Khunthian district of Bangkok as the dismembered body parts of an unidentified man were uncovered in a chilling discovery within a rented room. Police at the Samae Dam station responded to a distress call on Sunday, revealing the gruesome scene in a commercial building in the southernmost district of the Thai capital.
Upon reaching the location, authorities uncovered a white freezer on the fourth floor of the building, containing the severed legs of the victim. Bloodstains were found in the room and a nearby bathroom, heightening the sense of alarm. Adding to the macabre scenario, a chainsaw was discovered concealed under a bed.
Investigations are currently underway, with authorities reviewing CCTV footage in the vicinity to identify potential suspects linked to this horrifying incident.
At the scene, a Myanmar national informed authorities that he and four compatriots had visited the building the previous week. The building, which served as a job placement office, was reportedly occupied by an Indian man named Yao. While four of the Myanmar visitors were relocated for work, the whereabouts of Yao became a cause for concern as he lost contact with friends on Saturday.
The Myanmar national returned to the building on Sunday, eventually discovering the grisly scene. Faced with the alarming find, he contacted the building owner, who instructed him to break into the property before alerting the police.
According to Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp Poonsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, the Indian job broker had rented the building on January 13. The five Myanmar migrants, including the victim, had been staying there, eagerly awaiting job placements.
The four Myanmar workers returned to the building to retrieve their belongings, only to be met with the shocking revelation. Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp noted signs of a struggle and revealed that the Indian national had left the country for Chennai at 8:50 pm on Saturday.
