31-10-2023 (BEIJING) Another horrifying case of school bullying has emerged in China, as a video circulated online showing a student from Fujian being forced to eat feces. The incident has shocked netizens, prompting swift intervention from multiple authorities within a day of the video’s exposure. Local officials announced on Tuesday afternoon that they have identified and dealt with a bullying incident at the implicated school. However, due to the involvement of underage individuals, the details of the case cannot be disclosed as per the law.
The video in question began circulating on the internet on the 30th, depicting a student in school uniform being coerced into dipping his finger into the toilet to collect feces. Off-camera, someone continuously pressured the male victim to put the feces-covered finger into his mouth.
Initially, the male student refused the demand, citing the presence of other classmates. After the other students left, he was once again forced to consume the excrement on his finger. The victim of this deplorable act attends the Qiaoyu Middle School in Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian. The video quickly ignited anger among netizens, who believe that the extent of bullying in schools has reached uncontrollable levels.
As the incident gained momentum, officials from the Education Bureau of Longyan City and other departments stepped in on the 31st. Representatives from Qiaoyu Middle School stated that they are aware of the incident and have arranged for psychological counseling for the student featured in the video. They are also cooperating with law enforcement agencies in investigating the matter.
On the same afternoon, the Pengpai News learned from the Yongding Branch of the Public Security Bureau and the Education Bureau of Yongding District that authorities have recently taken legal action against a school bullying case that occurred at Qiaoyu Middle School. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
The police clarified that the incident reported by netizens occurred on October 26th, and they formed an investigation team upon receiving the report on the 30th. They have now identified all the individuals involved and the sequence of events. However, due to the underage status of those involved, the police are prohibited by law from disclosing further details. The police will take appropriate action against the individuals in accordance with the law and urge the public to report any unlawful incidents promptly.
The Education Bureau of Yongding District and the Party Committee Government of Xiayang Town have established a task force to provide psychological support to the bullied student, as well as visit and console the student and their family. They have also initiated a special campaign against school bullying in the entire district to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
