Muhamad Zaki Harun explained that they received a report about the incident yesterday, leading to the arrest of the 37-year-old suspect, who worked as an assistant accountant, at 12:21 a.m.
“The police received a complaint regarding the misconduct of a government agency officer related to the loss of government funds managed by the Financial Division of the agency through the Trust Fund Group and Development Fund Group.
“Based on preliminary investigations, it was found that this misconduct had been carried out by the suspect from 2016 until May 2023. The suspect conducted 194 money transactions from the accounts of the Development Fund Group and Trust Fund Group belonging to the government agency to the suspect’s own company account, with a total amount of RM24,800,189.73,”(S$8.3million.) he stated in a press release today.
