27-10-2023 (SEOUL) G-Dragon, a prominent member of the Korean boy band BIGBANG, has firmly denied allegations of drug use and has expressed his willingness to fully cooperate with ongoing police investigations. The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency had recently booked G-Dragon on drug-related charges, sparking widespread media attention.
Although the police have refrained from disclosing specific details due to the ongoing investigation, they clarified that the case is unrelated to Lee Sun Gyun, another individual currently under investigation for drug use.
G-Dragon’s attorney released an official statement on October 27, just two days after the reports surfaced, in which the singer personally addressed the accusations and vehemently denied any involvement with illicit substances.
In his statement, G-Dragon, whose given name is Kwon Ji Yong, stated the following:
“This is Kwon Ji Yong. Firstly, there is absolutely no truth to the claims of me using drugs. Furthermore, I have no connection whatsoever to the recent media reports regarding the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. I understand that many people are concerned, and I want to assure everyone that I will actively cooperate with the police investigation. I am fully committed to participating diligently in order to resolve this matter.”
