26-11-2024 (BANGKOK) A horrific shooting incident near the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm has claimed four lives, including the perpetrator, following what authorities believe was a heated confrontation over unpaid debts.
The tragic events unfolded at approximately 9:00 p.m. on November 25 in a residential area behind the popular tourist attraction in Tambon Thaiban. What reportedly began as a debt collection attempt escalated into violence, leaving three family members dead at the scene and two others, including an eight-year-old child, seriously wounded.
According to local law enforcement, the alleged gunman, who had been involved in a financial dispute with the family for several days, arrived at the residence while the victims were socialising. Witnesses reported that an argument erupted, leading to the suspect drawing a firearm and opening fire on the gathered family members.
The young child, who sustained a critical gunshot wound to the chest, was rushed to a nearby hospital along with another family member. Medical staff continue to monitor the child’s condition, which remains serious.
In a tragic turn of events, the perpetrator turned the weapon on himself following the shooting and was pronounced dead at the hospital, bringing the total death toll to four. Police investigators revealed that the suspect had been attempting to collect outstanding debts from the family, with tensions having built up over the preceding days.
Local authorities have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the nature of the financial dispute and how the perpetrator obtained the firearm. The case has shocked the local community and raised concerns about debt-related violence in the area.
