23-8-2023 (BANGKOK) Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was hospitalized due to high blood pressure, which developed after a sleepless night on his first evening in jail following his return from exile. This revelation was shared by a senior official from the Department of Corrections on Wednesday.
Ayuth Sintoppant, the Director General of the Department of Corrections, disclosed that prison authorities sought medical evaluation when Thaksin exhibited high blood pressure symptoms. Subsequently, doctors and nurses recommended transferring him to a police hospital for his safety. During the transfer, Thaksin was accompanied by eight prison guards.
