26-12-2023 (HONG KONG) Hong Kong’s entertainment industry mourns the loss of former actress Bonnie Lai, who tragically passed away today, December 26, at the age of 46. Reports suggest that she took her own life by burning charcoal in her home, and her lifeless body was discovered by one of her sons this afternoon.
Several Hong Kong publications have confirmed the news, revealing the heartbreaking details of Bonnie Lai’s final moments. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to the incident after being rushed to the hospital.
Her first husband, Hong Kong action actor Kenneth Low, when contacted, verified Bonnie’s demise, leaving the industry and fans in shock.
Bonnie Lai made her foray into showbiz after securing the runner-up position in the Miss Asia 1995 beauty pageant. Her debut in the drama scene occurred in 1996 with “Vampire Expert II,” and she also played the role of Simon Yam’s girlfriend in the 1996 movie “Young and Dangerous 3.”
In 1998, she tied the knot with Kenneth Low, with whom she had two sons. The couple parted ways in 2006. In the subsequent year, Bonnie entered into matrimony with a doctor and expanded her family with two more sons.
Just the night before her untimely death, Bonnie shared several photos of a Christmas feast on her Instagram Story. This unexpected tragedy follows her last post on October 2, a poignant celebration of her third son’s 16th birthday.
