20-8-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A foreign national, suspected of involvement in a series of robberies, was shot and killed during a confrontation with federal police in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, earlier this evening.
According to Selangor police chief Hussein Omar, the incident unfolded around 7 p.m., as captured in a video currently circulating on social media, Bernama reported. The deceased, believed to be of African origin, had been under investigation as a suspect in multiple robbery cases.
The 52-second video, widely shared online, shows a black MPV reversing into two other vehicles while shouts can be heard in the background. Several men, apparently wearing balaclavas, are heard yelling for others to take cover before four gunshots ring out, shattering the windshield of a car.

In the aftermath, the incident has sparked concern among social media users, particularly given the recent surge in reports of violent crimes, including murder, kidnapping, and rape in the area.
This is not the first time Bandar Sunway has witnessed such violence. Last year, a 32-year-old man, previously convicted of theft and robbery, was shot dead at a mobile phone accessory shop in the same area. In that incident, three men of unidentified nationality entered the shop, with two of them opening fire on the victim.
