18-11-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A shocking incident of violence unfolded Saturday (Nov 16) afternoon at a residential flat in Jalan Ara Kuda, where an alcohol-fuelled confrontation resulted in a foreign national allegedly gouging out the eye of a local resident in a disturbing assault that has left the community reeling.
The incident occurred around 2 pm when the victim, a 52-year-old Malaysian man who was reportedly intoxicated, allegedly harassed the 28-year-old foreign suspect. The confrontation escalated dramatically when the suspect allegedly used his bare hands to remove the victim’s left eyeball. The victim’s right eye was also damaged during the violent encounter.
Emergency services responding to the scene made a grim discovery when Ministry of Health personnel located the displaced eyeball near where the victim had fallen. The victim was rushed to Hospital Kepala Batas, where he remains in critical condition receiving urgent medical treatment.
Police swiftly apprehended the suspect at the scene of the crime. Penang Police Chief Datuk Hamzah Ahmad confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are being conducted under Section 325 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm.
