2-7-2024 (BEIJING) In a heartwarming display of communal support, a group of food delivery riders in Henan unexpectedly stepped up to care for a restaurant owner’s infant, taking turns rocking the baby while the overwhelmed parents prepared orders. This spontaneous act of kindness has captured the hearts of millions across China, reminding us of the power of unity and compassion in the face of everyday challenges.
The viral video, filmed on June 27 at a fried skewers shop, shows more than ten delivery riders seamlessly alternating shifts, gently rocking the two-month-old baby in a stroller over the course of half an hour. Their selfless actions were captured on camera and shared online, quickly garnering widespread admiration and praise.
According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, the restaurant owner, identified only as Mr. Zhu, and his wife found themselves struggling to keep up with the influx of orders while simultaneously caring for their infant. It was in this moment of need that the delivery riders, without being asked, stepped in to provide invaluable assistance.
“It was a tacit understanding, and there was no discussion,” Mr. Zhu told Xiaoxiang Morning News, recounting the heartwarming incident that unfolded around 10 pm when the shop was experiencing a surge in orders.
The video, which has amassed an impressive 14.9 million views on TikTok, captured the seamless choreography of care as one rider after another took their turn gently rocking the baby’s stroller, ensuring the infant remained calm and content.

Mr. Zhu expressed his profound gratitude for the riders’ kindness, stating that he and his wife are “very familiar” with them, as their shop has been a fixture in the community for four years. The riders, many of whom are parents themselves, felt a natural connection with the restaurant owner’s children, further fueling their desire to lend a helping hand.
In recognition of their compassionate actions, eight of the delivery riders were honored with the title “Caring Riders” on June 30. Additionally, each rider received a cash reward of CN¥500 (approximately S$93.39) as a token of appreciation for their selfless deeds.
According to their supervisor, the delivery riders are known for their kindness and integrity, often returning lost items and assisting the elderly and children in need.
