19-9-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Five male individuals believed to be associated with the GISBH company were apprehended by police as they attempted to flee to Thailand by car. The arrest, which took place near the Malaysia-Thailand border, has sent shockwaves through the region and raised questions about the company’s activities.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin revealed that the Northern Border Intelligence Unit made the arrests after intercepting two caravans emblazoned with “GISBH” logos in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, at approximately 6pm. The suspects, aged between 28 and 41, were heading towards the Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Station (ICQS) when they were stopped.
Razarudin disclosed that the operation was carried out with the assistance of the Kedah Criminal Investigation Division. Two motorhomes and a Perodua Myvi car were seized as part of the investigation.
Adding intrigue to the case, sources close to the investigation suggest that one of the apprehended individuals is allegedly the offspring of a high-ranking figure within the GISBH company. This revelation has sparked intense speculation about potential corporate misconduct and familial involvement.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Razarudin confirmed that initial investigations revealed none of the suspects had prior criminal records. “The suspects and the seized vehicles will be transported to the Kubang Pasu district police headquarters for further questioning and investigation,” he stated.
The police are treating the case with utmost seriousness, investigating it under multiple legal provisions. These include Section 32(a) of the Child Act 2001, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
