18-3-2024 (LOS ANGELES) Model and actor Cara Delevingne’s Los Angeles residence fell victim to a devastating fire on Friday (Mar 15), with one firefighter hospitalized in fair condition due to unspecified injuries, and another individual from the house suffering minor smoke inhalation, confirmed Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Delevingne took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the incident after TMZ reported that the property, situated in the Studio City neighbourhood, was ablaze in the early hours and belonged to her. Currently starring in a production of Cabaret on London’s West End, Delevingne was reportedly away from home at the time.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames at the two-storey house, which obliterated a room and extended to the attic, according to Prange. After ensuring the evacuation of all occupants, firefighters adopted a defensive stance as the roof eventually collapsed. It took over two hours for crews to extinguish the blaze.
Later on, Delevingne posted a video on Instagram depicting a street teeming with fire trucks, accompanied by a heartfelt message expressing gratitude to the firefighters and all those who rendered assistance.
In another Instagram story, she shared a poignant photo of her two cats, captioned with the words, “My heart is broken today I cannot believe it life can change in the blink of an eye cherish what you have.” She later clarified that her feline companions emerged unscathed from the fire.
The residence corresponds to the one featured in a 2021 profile in Architectural Digest, described as a white brick house with two pools and two trampolines in the backyard, originally constructed in 1941 for the Von der Ahe family, founders of the Vons grocery chain.

Delevingne and her designer injected playful elements into the property, including a costume room for themed parties, a bathroom serving as a tribute to David Bowie, poker and billiard rooms, and even a ball pit.
“If I’m having a bad day, I just hop in the ball pit,” Delevingne quipped to the magazine. “You can’t really cry in a ball pit.”
Representatives for Delevingne did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The 31-year-old London-born personality gained prominence as a fashion model in the early 2010s before transitioning to acting. She notably appeared in the 2016 DC Comics film Suicide Squad and Luc Besson’s 2017 feature Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets. Her recent television credits include the Hulu series Only Murders In The Building alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez in 2022, and a role in FX’s American Horror Story in 2023.
