7-10-2024 (SINGAPORE) A fire erupted in a residential unit at Park Green condominium in Buangkok, Singapore, leading to the evacuation of approximately 100 residents on the evening of 6 October. The incident, which occurred in the Rivervale Link area, prompted a swift response from emergency services and highlighted the importance of fire safety measures in high-rise buildings.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received an alert about the fire at around 8:35 pm and immediately dispatched a team to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the blaze had engulfed the living room and kitchen area of a fourth-floor flat.
Employing rapid response tactics, SCDF personnel utilised two powerful water jets to combat the flames, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.
Fortunately, the unit was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported among the residents or emergency responders. However, the flat did not escape unscathed, with SCDF officials noting significant heat and smoke damage throughout the premises.

The severity of the fire was evident in eyewitness accounts and media footage. A video shared by Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao depicted thick plumes of black smoke billowing from the affected unit, underscoring the intensity of the blaze and the challenges faced by firefighters.
