19-8-2023 (TAIPEI) A video posted on the Facebook page of “Reporter Leaks” revealed an eye-catching sight in Taichung City. The footage captured a vibrant red Ferrari Monza SP1 parked on Wenxin Road while it was raining. Despite the wet weather, a motorcyclist nearby was seen wearing rain gear. However, the driver of the exotic sports car chose to navigate the streets with a large, red Ferrari-branded umbrella, creating a peculiar scene that drew the attention of onlookers.
The Ferrari Monza SP1 is a single-seat supercar, with the passenger seat replaced by a storage compartment. It also lacks a roof, leaving the driver exposed to the rain. Consequently, the owner of this particular vehicle had no choice but to resort to using an umbrella to shield themselves from getting drenched, turning what would have been a stylish ride into a rather comical situation.
Andy, a seasoned automotive journalist, shared the photo on his own Facebook account, jokingly commenting, “Quite handsome… driving a Ferrari SP1 with an umbrella.” Many netizens who watched the video found amusement in the situation, with some remarking, “The happiness of the rich is truly unpretentious,” and others sarcastically stating, “Is this considered a ‘waterproof’ car?” and “This design is not practical, especially in Taiwan where it rains so frequently. The interior must be ruined.” Even the car owner himself later self-deprecatingly posted on social media, saying, “What the heck am I doing… just being a fool.”
