26-3-2024 (NEW YORK) Homeland Security agents conducted a raid on Monday at a Holmby Hills mansion linked to rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his production company, as part of an ongoing federal sex-trafficking investigation centred in New York.
The operation, which also included a similar raid at a Combs residence in Miami, comes amidst a backdrop of legal troubles for the music icon, including lawsuits concerning alleged sexual assaults and sex trafficking.
The Holmby Hills property, situated in the affluent Los Angeles enclave known for housing celebrities and the famed Playboy Mansion, is associated with Combs’ Bad Boy Films production company.
During the raid on the 200 block of S. Mapleton Drive, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) agents were observed detaining two men, later identified as Diddy’s sons, though they were not placed under arrest. Agents combed through the premises, removing boxes and even inspecting outdoor pool furniture.
Neighbours reported frequent parties at the mansion but claimed ignorance regarding any illicit activities.
The news of the raid drew curious onlookers, with tour buses stopping by to witness federal agents in action.
The Department of Homeland Security released a statement confirming the coordinated efforts of HSI branches in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, along with local law enforcement support.
Douglas Wigdor, attorney for Cassie Ventura, a singer and actor who is a former girlfriend of Combs, along with an anonymous plaintiff referred to as Jane Doe, expressed support for the law enforcement activity, stating, “We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”
Combs, a renowned rapper, producer, and entertainment mogul with three Grammy awards to his name, was estimated to have a net worth close to $1 billion by Forbes in 2022.
