28-6-2023 (JAKARTA) Police are still conducting a search operation for seven human infant remains buried at a former pond site in Central Java, Indonesia, according to Liputan 6 news. The seven babies were born as a result of an incestuous relationship between a man known only as R, 57, and his own daughter.
“Yesterday, we established that R, 57, a resident of Tanjung Village, is a suspect,” said Banyumas Police Chief Agus Supriadi Siswanto, adding that the suspect in the case may be more than one person. Police have sufficient evidence to accuse R as the suspect in the case.
The case was initially uncovered when two cleaning workers found suspected human bones at the site on 15 June. R is accused of killing and burying the babies born as a result of incest with his daughter, known as E, 25, since 2012. The heinous act was committed by R from the birth of the first baby in 2013 until the seventh baby in 2021.
“Based on the suspect’s confession, there are still three baby bodies that he killed and buried in that location, in addition to the four infant remains that we found between 15 and 21 June,” explained Agus.
According to Agus, the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit dug up the area of the former pond yesterday but has still not found the remains of the three babies. R’s third wife, named S, is said to have helped E give birth. She was reportedly threatened with death by R if she revealed the matter.
