26-7-2023 (TOKYO) A father and daughter have been arrested by Japanese police on suspicion of decapitating a 62-year-old man. The man’s headless and naked body was found on July 2 in a hotel room in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Tamura Runa, 29, and her father Tamura Osamu, 59, have been arrested for the mutilation, possession, and abandonment of a dead body. The two suspects are also accused of having removed the victim’s head with a blade, which was later found at their home during a police search. Tamura’s wife, Hiroko, 60, was also arrested under the same suspicion.
The incident took place in Susukino, a red-light district in Sapporo known for short-stay hotels. Security footage showed the victim and another individual checking into the hotel on July 1. The other individual, who was dressed in women’s clothing and a wide-brimmed hat, left the hotel alone at 2am on July 2. The police suspect that Tamura committed the murder herself and that her father was involved in transporting her to and from the hotel.
The victim, identified as Hitoshi Ura, resided near the city, and the police suspect that he and Tamura knew each other. An autopsy revealed that Ura died of hemorrhagic shock due to losing blood from stab wounds. The police declined to comment on whether the two suspects admitted to the allegations.
