20-4-2024 (JAKARTA) Tragedy struck the Mampang Prapatan neighbourhood of South Jakarta as a devastating fire claimed the lives of seven individuals on Thursday evening, local time. Confirming the grim toll, the Mampang Prapatan Police disclosed that the victims were discovered within a room on the second floor of the “Saudara Frame dan Galery” shop building.
Chief Commissioner David Yunior Kanitero of the Mampang Prapatan Police detailed the aftermath of the blaze, noting that rescuers recovered the bodies following the extinguishing of the flames by firefighters. The fire, which engulfed the premises, also left five individuals injured, two of whom were admitted to Mampang Prapatan Public Hospital. The remaining three casualties received treatment at Pertamina Central Hospital for burn injuries sustained on their head, arms, and legs.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, efforts were undertaken to identify the victims. The Kramatjati Police Hospital in East Jakarta successfully confirmed the identities of the deceased individuals from the Brother Frame shop fire.
