The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, according to a statement released by the state-owned enterprise Transport Company Ltd.
Originally, local media reported 14 fatalities and 35 injuries, but the bus operator later revised the figures to confirm 14 dead and 20 injured. The ill-fated bus was en route from the national capital, Bangkok, destined for Nathawi district in Songkhla province.
Emergency response teams swiftly transported the injured to local hospitals for medical attention. Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the accident, with police leading the inquiry.
