The small community of Prince Rupert, British Columbia was shaken to its core when a family of four was found dead in their home in what appears to be a murder-suicide. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are currently investigating the incident as a homicide.
On the evening of June 13th, local authorities were alerted to the situation and arrived at the residence to discover the bodies of Janet Nguyen, Chris Duong, and their two young sons. The family’s home is located less than a kilometer away from a local school and is situated in a community of approximately 12,000 people. Nguyen and Duong were well-known figures in the area.
The RCMP have not released any information regarding the cause of death, but have confirmed that there is no threat to the public and that there are no suspects at large. Following the discovery of the bodies, the area surrounding the home was cordoned off by police.
Just days before the tragedy, Nguyen had shared a photo of the family on vacation, all smiling and happy. The news of their sudden and violent deaths has shocked and saddened the Prince Rupert community.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
