18-12-2023 (TAIPEI) Taiwanese container shipping company Evergreen announced on Monday its decision to temporarily cease accepting Israeli cargo, effectively immediately. Additionally, the company has instructed its container ships to suspend navigation through the Red Sea until further notice.
Evergreen clarified that vessels operating on regional services bound for Red Sea ports will divert to safe waters in close proximity and await further instructions. Meanwhile, container ships originally scheduled to transit the Red Sea will be rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope to continue their voyages towards their respective destination ports.
