8-6-2023 (SEOUL) A startling incident occurred on Thursday morning (Jun 8) at a subway station in South Korea, as a busy escalator suddenly reversed its direction, resulting in injuries to 14 individuals. According to local media, three of the victims sustained severe injuries to their backs and legs.
The incident took place at approximately 8:20 a.m. local time at Sunae Station on the Bundang Line, located to the south of Seoul. Commuters were ascending the escalator when it unexpectedly changed its course, abruptly moving in a downward direction.

Disturbing footage circulating on Twitter captures the chaotic scene, depicting people tumbling down the steps and inadvertently colliding with one another. The force of the incident even caused one person to fall onto the adjacent escalator.
