According to a report published by The Information on Wednesday, xAI has set its sights on Character.AI, an innovative chatbot startup, as a potential acquisition target.
The proposed acquisition is seen as a calculated step to enhance xAI’s ability to test and refine its Grok AI models. Grok, xAI’s flagship AI system, has been positioned as a competitor to other large language models such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard.
