1-11-2023 (LONDON) Renowned technology magnate Elon Musk has received confirmation from Rishi Sunak that he will be present at the artificial intelligence (AI) summit held in the United Kingdom this week.
A reliable source involved in the planning of the summit revealed that the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is expected to participate on both days of the conference. Additionally, he will attend a separate reception on Thursday following the conclusion of the summit.
In an official statement posted on Monday evening on Sunak’s verified social media account, it was announced that Musk will engage in a discussion with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, following the conclusion of the AI summit.
Scheduled to occur on Wednesday and Thursday, the AI summit will center its discussions on potential risks associated with cutting-edge AI technology and ways to mitigate them. The event will take place at Bletchley Park, located in Buckinghamshire.
Attention is being paid to the guest list for this gathering, with notable figures such as French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and U.S. President Biden unable to attend in person but sending representatives on their behalf. However, it has been confirmed that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, and Giorgia Meloni of Italy will be in attendance.
Elon Musk has previously expressed his concerns regarding the potential dangers of AI. He has even signed a letter emphasizing the need for caution, stating that “AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity.”
