31-12-2024 (SEOUL) A chaotic scene erupted at a bustling market in western Seoul on Tuesday afternoon when an elderly motorist lost control of his luxury saloon, leaving multiple shoppers injured in its wake.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:18 pm local time near the rear entrance of Mokdong Kaebi Market, where a Hyundai Equus, driven by a man in his 70s, careened down a slope before crashing into a crowd of market-goers.
Emergency services rushing to the scene found thirteen casualties, with four individuals sustaining serious injuries. The remaining nine victims escaped with minor wounds, according to officials who spoke to local broadcaster SBS.
