The incident left 26 people injured, with six in critical condition, according to a statement from Thranscarpathian region police.
The video footage captured the assailant calmly entering the room and pulling three grenades from his jacket. He then removed the pins and threw the grenades onto the floor, causing the explosion. Batryn, who sustained serious injuries, was attended to by medical personnel.
Authorities are treating the incident as a possible terror attack, though the motive remains unconfirmed. No connection to Russia’s war in Ukraine has been established at this time.
