4-8-2023 (BEIJING) A noodle restaurant in Wei Nan City, Shaanxi Province, China, has been closed for investigation after a customer found a dead mouse in their bowl of noodles. The shocking incident was caught on video and has since gone viral on Chinese social media platforms.
According to the video, the customer’s bowl of noodles was filled with a complete, lifeless mouse lying on top of the noodles. The restaurant manager claimed that the mouse had fallen into the bowl on its own while the customer was away buying a drink.
The noodle restaurant’s owner apologized and compensated the customer by waiving their bill and offering financial compensation. The local market supervision administration intervened in the case and ordered the restaurant to close for sanitary inspection.
The incident has raised concerns about food safety and hygiene in China’s restaurant industry. The Chinese government has been working to improve food safety standards and inspections, but incidents like this continue to occur.
