24-5-2023 (Guandong) A unique way of eating steamed durian, supposedly originating from Guangdong, China, has recently been circulating on Chinese social media. According to the viral posts, the durian is steamed and garnished with chopped green onions, creating a stir among internet users. However, many netizens from Guangdong have refuted this claim, stating that durians are not typically consumed in the province.
The discussion originated from a Weibo post by the user “treasure copywriter bot,” who shared the supposed Guangdong-style method of eating durian. The post suggested steaming the durian before consumption and adding chopped green onions during the cooking process.
