26-7-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A Twitter account claiming to be Jocelyn Chia’s father has recently posted that he has disowned the controversial comedian. However, netizens appear unconvinced and refuse to believe that the account belongs to the comedian’s father.
The tweet on Anthony Chia Whye Liang’s account last Tuesday read, “I publicly announce here for the first time that me and my beloved wife Shirley will disown our daughter @JocelynChia from here onwards until the day of our death. Her doing shows my total failure in raising her to be a better person for society. The public deserved better than this.”

Upon inspection, it was found that Anthony’s account was created this month and the account has only tweeted spam hashtags and random tweets. Netizens have speculated that the account may be fake and created to defame the comedian.
