26-7-2023 (NEW YORK) A construction crane in Manhattan caught fire and collapsed during the morning rush hour on Wednesday (Jul 26), causing injuries to at least two people and disrupting traffic in the area.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and rescue personnel, rushed to the scene near the Hudson Yards complex at 10th and 11th Avenues and West 41 and 42 Street. The incident led to road closures and traffic congestion through the Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) urged the public to avoid the affected area. According to reports, one firefighter and one civilian sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Videos shared on social media captured the dramatic moment when the upper section of the crane caught fire and collapsed, brushing against a nearby building before hitting the ground. Smoke and flames were visible from the crane’s cabin.
