27-5-2023 (TAIPEI) A heated online argument between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation on the streets of Taichung City. The incident occurred in front of a convenience store on West Tun Road, where the disagreement turned violent. Witnesses reported that the male and female involved in the altercation had arranged to meet and resolve their differences in person.
The confrontation quickly escalated, with Huang, the guy, flipping over a table and initiating the fight. Lu, the woman involved, retaliated by swiftly retrieving pepper spray and using it against Huang. However, her efforts proved futile as she was ultimately overpowered and knocked to the ground. Following the incident, Lu went to the local police station to file a complaint.
Lu accused a man, who had previously sent her a private message threatening physical harm, stating, “If you mention the pawnshop incident again, I’ll find someone to put you in the hospital.” This threat left her feeling fearful and intimidated. When the two parties met face-to-face, a verbal altercation ensued, leading to the table being overturned and physical injuries inflicted by hand. Lu intends to press charges against Li for intimidation and assault, while Li has countercharged Lu with assault and intimidation. The entire case is currently under investigation by the police.
The Taichung City Police Department’s 6th Precinct in West Tun reported that they received a report of a dispute on the evening of the 26th at approximately 7:19 pm. When officers arrived at the scene on Section 3, Li Ming Road in West Tun District, the altercation had already ceased. Both parties were taken into custody for further questioning and to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The police emphasized their commitment to handling the case according to the law.
According to sources, Huang (24 years old) and Lu (23 years old) were involved in a dispute on a Facebook group. The exchange of insults led to their decision to meet at the aforementioned location for a discussion. However, tensions escalated quickly, resulting in a physical altercation. Huang physically assaulted Lu, while Lu defended herself by using pepper spray. Huang suffered a swollen arm, while Lu sustained bruises and abrasions to her hands and feet. Upon receiving the report, the police promptly arrived at the scene, apprehending both parties. Both individuals have been accused of intimidation and assault, and the police have referred the case to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office for further legal action.
