7-9-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a harrowing incident in Jalan Eco Grandeur 1/8, Puncak Alam, a young child miraculously survived after being struck by a car that suddenly reversed at high speed. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, left the five-year-old girl with light injuries to her face.
Kuala Selangor deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Ambia Nordin provided details of the incident. According to his statement, the driver, a man in his 30s, had intended to reverse into a parking space in front of a pet food store. However, an unfortunate mishap occurred as he accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal, causing the car to reverse rapidly.
Tragically, the vehicle collided with the young girl who was walking along the pathway, and also crashed into the shop’s front entrance. Prompt medical attention was provided, and the child was transported to the Universiti Teknologi Mara hospital in Puncak Alam for treatment. Fortunately, her condition was considered stable, and she was discharged the following day at 8.30am.
The incident, captured in a viral video on social media, shows the yellow car suddenly reversing at high speed and crashing into the child and the shop. Fortunately, bystanders in the vicinity managed to evade the speeding vehicle, escaping unharmed. The driver has provided his statement to authorities as part of their investigation into the incident.
