21-3-2024 (BANGKOK) A collision on the Chonburi Motorway left 26 Chinese tourists injured on Tuesday afternoon, March 19th, 2024.
The accident occurred around 4:30 PM near kilometer marker 65 + 900, on a lane inbound to Bangkok, in the Mueang district, Chonburi province.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the local rescue team swiftly responded to the scene alongside highway police. They discovered a white bus with significant front-end damage, having collided with the rear of a white Hino 18-wheeler.
All 26 passengers aboard the bus, a group of Chinese tourists, suffered various injuries. Although the precise extent of the injuries was not disclosed to the press, the victims, comprising 9 men and 17 women, were promptly transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
Authorities are presently conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident. Statements are being collected from both the injured passengers and the bus driver.
