25-7-2023 (BEIJING) Feng Timo, known as “China’s top Internet celebrity,” gained fame for her sweet appearance and clear voice when she went viral on the internet for her cover of the popular song “Learning to Meow.” However, her recent revelation about her health has sparked discussions and concerns among her fans.
Since rising to fame, Feng Timo received numerous invitations to appear on various programs and even released her own singles. She also had the opportunity to sing for TV dramas and movies. However, in December last year, her contract expired, leading her to pause her live activities, leaving many fans worried. Yesterday, she disclosed the reason for her disappearance – she has been battling advanced thyroid cancer.
At the age of 31, Feng Timo took to Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform, to share her journey with her fans. She revealed that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had already undergone a successful surgery. “Now my body has recovered, and my voice is gradually getting back on track with my persistent practice,” she said.

Through this cancer journey, Feng Timo wishes to convey an important message, especially to young girls – “never burden yourself mentally, don’t accumulate negative energy in your heart. Communicate and interact more with your family and friends. If you encounter cyberbullying or false rumors, be brave to speak up and protect yourself using the power of the law.”
Facing the illness and cancer, Feng Timo showed no fear, saying, “As long as I’m alive, nothing is a big deal.” However, she did go through a difficult time after the surgery, during which she couldn’t speak or sing, making her feel overwhelmed as if the sky was falling. “But I am grateful for the reminder from the heavens and my own perseverance, which has now led to the recovery of my voice,” she expressed.
In a recent interview, Feng Timo was asked why she kept her cancer diagnosis a secret for half a year. She explained that she wanted to inform her fans and parents only after her body had fully recovered so that they wouldn’t worry.
Dealing with the disease, Feng Timo faced uncertainties, questioning, “Why did it happen to me?” The surgery involved an incision in her neck, which was close to the recurrent laryngeal nerve and vocal cords. Removing the tumor could potentially damage her vocal cords.
