17-4-2024 (BANGKOK) Beef Lava Grill, a renowned buffet restaurant known for its premium grilled beef, seafood, and Japanese cuisine, recently made headlines worldwide when two Chinese women dined at the establishment and fled without paying. The incident, which occurred on April 12, gained significant attention online after the restaurant posted an update about the incident on social media.
According to the restaurant’s post, the two Chinese women left without settling their bill of 2,696 Baht (approximately $S99). The individual stated, “I feel sorry and embarrassed by the behavior of these two tourists. As a gesture of goodwill, I would like to pay their bill. I want to express my gratitude to everyone on Chinese social media and the various media outlets who have highlighted and discussed this incident.”
The restaurant hopes that the incident will serve as a reminder to a small minority of tourists who engage in such behavior, prompting them to consider the impact their actions may have on the reputation of Chinese tourists as a whole. They also expressed their gratitude to the Chinese social media users who helped bring attention to the incident and hoped that fellow business owners in the morning market would not have to encounter similar situations. The restaurant concluded by extending heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.
