27-4-2024 (JAKARTA) The team behind the highly anticipated K-variety show “Pick Me Trip in Bali” finds themselves in a predicament as they remain stranded on the Indonesian island of Bali. Allegations of filming without the proper permits have led to the confiscation of passports for all 30 individuals involved, including prominent figures such as Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, Apink’s Bomi, former I.O.I member and actress Lim Na-young, and Secret Number’s Dita, who holds Indonesian citizenship. TV presenter Choi Hee is also among those affected.
According to reports from South Korean media outlet SpoTV, the group arrived in Bali on Sunday, April 21, with plans to depart on Thursday. However, they now face an extended stay, with their return to South Korea anticipated next week.
While details surrounding the situation remain unclear, sources close to the production express frustration over the lack of information provided. “They are remaining in Bali, but even the cast members don’t know the exact reason for their detention,” one source revealed. Another source labelled the ordeal as “embarrassing” and indicated that clarity may only come after the completion of investigations.

An official, speaking to MKSports, acknowledged that the delay stems from visa-related issues and expressed hope for a swift resolution. However, communication with the stranded individuals has been challenging, adding to the uncertainty surrounding their situation.
In the midst of the ordeal, KBS Joy, the network set to air the variety show, released a brief statement, stating that the “broadcast of the programme has not been finalised.” They clarified that while they have reviewed the content related to the programme, official broadcasting arrangements are still under consideration. Furthermore, they emphasized their lack of association with the production company involved in filming on Bali.
